The Su-27 " Flanker" is a single-seat, twin-engine, Mach 2-class fighter jet designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau during the Soviet era. Designed to directly counter third-generation American fighters, it boasts a range of up to 3,530 kilometers, can carry a large weapon load, and features sophisticated avionics and high maneuverability. he Su-27 is typically used for air superiority missions, but can also participate in all combat operations to compensate for the smaller MiG-29. The American fighter jet most similar in purpose to the Su-27 is the F-15 "Eagle." Several variants have been developed based on the Su-27. The Su-30 is a two-seat, all-weather fighter capable of performing various missions, including air-to-air and air-to-ground interdiction.
