The YF-19 Demonstrator is a prototype variable fighter from the Macross Plus series, developed by Shinsei Industries as part of Project Super Nova—a competition to determine the next-generation mainstay fighter for the U.N. Spacy.

Built to push the boundaries of speed, agility, and pilot integration, the YF-19 served as a technological testbed and proof of concept for advanced systems later implemented in frontline units.

Featuring forward-swept wings, cutting-edge aerodynamics, and the revolutionary Brain Direct Interface (BDI) system, the YF-19 Demonstrator represented a leap forward in man-machine synergy.

While it retained traditional controls, it also integrated experimental avionics, variable geometry, and high-output thermonuclear engines to maximize performance in all three modes: Fighter, GERWALK, and Battroid.
