Background information
The story of the ETV Waker begins in 1976, when the ship was launched under the name "Smit Houston". Its most notable transformation came in 1990, when it was converted for Greenpeace and equipped with a helipad. Since 1995, the deep-sea tug has been serving the Dutch Coast Guard in Den Helder under the name "Waker" and, thanks to its powerful engines, it can reach a speed of 14 knots.
